Meet Your Photographer
Hi! I’m Pallavi and I am super excited about the opportunity for capturing your child, authentically, on photo day.
I am a Wimbledon based Family, Newborn & Headshot photographer and have been capturing genuine smiles for the past several years now.
I excel in making people comfortable in front of my camera and getting genuine expressions from them. And I bring this expertise to school photography as well.
My images have been published in multiple magazines and have been showcased in exhibitions in both UK and US.
I am also the CFO (Chief Family Officer) to my sweet little family of 4 - my two kiddos who are ten and three years old and my husband of 15 years ( and counting! :))
I’m crazy about travelling and am thankfully married to someone who loves it as much as I do. We have lived in 10 cities around the world that we’ve called home. – (Seriously! We’ve moved every 2-3 years) - I’ve had the good fortune to live in some cool cities in India, in US, UK and Mexico. But when the time came to settle down, London - being our first love - seemed like a natural choice.
I am delighted that you are here and if you would like to know more about me, please click on the link below.
Important Stuff First
What to Expect
I only take on a select few schools every year so that I can provide superior service and imagery. I make sure I spend enough time with each child and that is built into my schedule for the day.
I never force the kids to smile. I simply aim to capture the essence of the child through my photography. A shy child will behave very differently to a child who draws his/her energies from social interactions. And that’s fine. They have permission to be themselves in the few minutes they are with me. No awkward poses or forced smiles. Just truly them.
My aim is always to take 2-5 images per child so that parents have a wide variety of images to choose from. Some galleries have more - some fewer…depending on how the child is doing on the day.
Thats why we have two photo days scheduled at each of the settings. This allows me to spend another session with the child if anything was less than ideal in their first session - just in case. In all honesty though, this happens on very rare occasions.
What to Wear
Please feel free to dress your child in anything that they are comfortable in and they love wearing. If you would like them to be dressed in smart clothes or casuals - thats absolutely ok. Just make sure to send in a change with them on the day so the staff has an option to change in case they feel uncomfortable after the pictures.
The only things I request you avoid are big logo t shirts, big graphics as well as bright neon colours. These have a tendency to cause distractions in the picture. Solid colour or nice prints are the way to go.
Pictures will only be upper torso. Footwear will not be visible in the picture therefore please send them in shoes they would usually wear in the nursery.
Siblings
I love to capture this unique bond between siblings. Siblings will be photographed first thing in the morning on photo day.
If you are interested in booking a slot to have pictures taken with your other child/children, please coordinate with the Preschool directly.
After Picture Day
The Preschool will send an email roughly 3 weeks after picture day. This mail will announce that your pictures are ready and you will get a link to view your pictures.
Galleries will be open for one full week. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU PLACE ALL ORDERS WITHIN THIS WEEK. The gallery closure date will be clearly communicated.
You will be able to order everything yourself, directly from this link. Any digital images you purchase, will be available for you to download immediately.
You will also have the opportunity to purchase prints, canvas wraps and frames. Once you’ve placed the order for these, your order will be delivered to the Preschool. Once these are ready (Usually 2 weeks later), you can collect these when you collect your child from the Preschool.
Any Questions?
If you have any more questions about photo day, please feel free to contact me. I love to hear from parents and I answer every.single.email :)
